The Magical Maiko
The Oorun Meno island nation boasts one of the richest cultures on Blissdane Naive, hoarding centuries of mysterious tales. Many of these tales have risen to mythical status.
One enduring myth is that of the Magical Maiko, also known as the Half Jewel Performers. These apprentice performers were young women who sang and danced traditional works or acted out legendary stories. But this changed one fateful night when a Shog appeared at a show and began to terrorize the crowd. The appearance of a Shog should have easily caused the death of hundreds, but every attendee to the Half Jewel performance came out alive and uninjured.
How this came to be is where truth mingles with myth. It is said that when the Shog appeared and rang out its cry of death, the Maiko ladies suddenly and unexpectedly flew into action. They literally flew. The four Maiko ladies there that night hovered over the deadly Shog and drew energy from their hands and eyes to squelch the beast. In a concerted effort, the four Maiko ladies confused it by shape shifting into dear or bird and ensnared the Shog with strange and luminous electric charges and then flew off into the dark night with their captive.
The four Maiko ladies never returned to the show that night or back to Oorun Meno as far as anyone reported. Soon afterward, all Maiko ladies vanished permanently from the island nation of Oorun Meno. And it is believed that revealing themselves that night caused their banishment from Blissdane Naive. They now live in myth and legend.
The Bank of Oorun Meno proudly presents the new series, The Magical Maiko featuring, Yuri Sone, Miyu Isana, Toshiko Miyuki, and Hayaki Keito.
