THE TRAGEDY AND MYSTERY DISCOVERED
JOURNEY FROM ANDAQESH TO MUJAND
In the year 1079, Mujand Time, Forentis Bledamir of the Andaqesh Commerce Office, commissioned a team of cartographers, urban planners and surveyors to travel to the colony of Mujand. Along for the journey were Artwon Dienos of the Jandican Church and a young nurse named Gnoria Edavee. The well-known and highly decorated sea captain, Keer Avenjon was engaged to transport the team. They would start in wintry water but end on temperate land.
The journey was long across the wide and treacherous Tenebris Ocean. Some nights at dinnertime, Captain Avenjon would regale his passengers with his exhilarating sea adventures. He told hair raising stories of sea-rhinos, whale-squids, two headed shogs, and great flying orbs. His guests thought him much too influenced by the Rhumlo Juice. Still, all enjoyed his colorful tales.
Midway through the journey late one night, a tremendous sound startled all. They awoke to angry water rushing in from all sides. The frigate was going down. Artwon and Gnoria found each other and desperately fought to evacuate the drowning vessel. They made their way to the deck and came face to face with a shocking scene. A large grating orb was hovering above, glowing a tremendous light. Artwon and Gnoria’s hearts raced. The Captain’s crew was outmatched and terrified. One by one they tried desperately to take on the glowing orb. No sooner did they try were they accosted by blazing beams of fire and removed from their flesh entirely.

The priest and nurse could sense their doom. They fell to their knees, held each other and prayed. Seeing that his passengers could not save themselves, Captain Avenjon approached them with orders to abandon ship. They were frightened beyond taking the leap so he grabbed each one and tossed them overboard into the cold black agitated waters and then threw a float device after them.
Artwon and Gnoria were tossed up and down with the pulsing waves repeatedly. Fighting to swim and gasping for breath in the mad water, they reached each other and united with the float device. They drifted helplessly and could only watch as the orb continued its assault on the frigate. They could see Captain Avenjon standing defiant on the deck of his failing ship, living his final sea adventure. He waved his fists angrily at the orb just before he dissolved into nothing by the Orb’s weapon. The ship, with its fire reflecting on the raging water, would slowly go under, gurgling and hissing its last gasp.
The furious glowing orb vanished into the heavens leaving a smoky mist in the air. The waters calmed and Artwon and Gnoria drifted.

STRANDED
The Mujand sun was warm on their faces. Artwon and Gnoria woke to the sound of a charging tide rushing in and out and crashing loudly against protruding stones in the shallow waters just off the shore. They slowly regained their senses and came to the realization that they had survived the sea attack. After a regaining of their strength and a quick scan of their immediate area they ventured off to find help, believing they’d made it to the shores of the Mujand Colony.
They walked for about an hour when they came upon a massive black rocked crater with muddy water at the center. The crater gave off a strange feeling and they moved past it quickly. Venturing further they came upon what their eyes could not conceive. At rest within the vegetation and rocks were the remains of a large ship lying halfway upon its side. They stood in awe of this inconceivable act. How could an entire ship lose its way onto land? They were dwarfed and terrified by its size and mystery and continued on, feeling quite exhausted.
After time they came upon the end of the land. They had reached another shore and realized that they had floated onto an island and not the Mujand Colony. They were alone. They were stranded.

THE MUD
Later that night Artwon and Gnoria crawled within a shelter they’d built from shipwreck debris and island brush and they prayed to Unc for salvation. As they prepared for sleep a mysterious droning sound became apparent to both. They ventured from their camp to find this noise.
The disturbing noise led them back to the black rocked crater and there they saw the familiar deadly orb upon the surface extracting the mud substance through a strand of tubes. Although both frightened and wanting to return to their shelter the couple remained until the droning sound stopped. The extracting ended and the tube apparatus was retracted. The orb then started to hover upward and in mere seconds it vanished into the heavens leaving Artwon and Gnoria to ponder their vision.

The orb visitations continued but the priest and nurse were more concerned about their survival and were forced to learn how to sustain themselves on the island’s vegetation and sea life. When the orb stopped its night extractions, Gnoria was nine months with child. A healthy girl was born but the birthing took Gnoria’s life. Artwon was now alone to care for the child, to whom he gave the name, Islabeth. Artwon placed Gnoria’s body at the black rocked crater within the mud substance, feeling that somehow she would be taken to the heavens with the orb, should it return.
A short while later that same night as Artwon cared for a fussy Islabeth, he heard a clumsy rustling sound in the nearby vegetation. Then he heard odd choking and coughing with gasps of his name called. He mustered all the nerve he could and stepped out of the shelter. Standing there before him was the ghost of Gnoria covered in the mud substance. She fell to her knees and coughed out mud from her mouth. The sight of this overwhelmed Artwon and he fell back unconscious.
When revived, Artwon saw Gnoria watching over him while she naturally nourished Islabeth. He sat up quickly and recoiled back fearing that her ghost had returned. She smiled and reached out her hand to assure him that she was not a ghost but the true Gnoria.
In the following days and weeks to come Artwon desperately deliberated the mystery of her death and rebirth. Gnoria believed that the mud substance was the source of her rebirth. She recounted her feelings when she revived within the mud. She described a jolting tingle lifting her to the surface and her chest then immediately filling with mud. A sensation of invigorating blood flow and warmth throughout her body followed and she then became aware of where she was.
Considering the orb’s interest in the mud and Gnoria’s experience, they both agreed that the mud had mysterious and empyrean properties. They knew this was a significant discovery.

THE STATE OF SALVATION
They would be on the island two years before a passing cargo ship would rescue the three. They were brought onboard and nourished and cared for. The Captain of the ship explained that the island was not noted on any cartography nor had he come upon it through his ventures. This was an undiscovered land.
When Artwon and Gnoria returned to Andaqesh they would stake a claim on the island on behalf of the Jandican Church and argued that despite Andaqesh financing the journey, its representation, the ship and its agents, did not reach the island. The Serene Court agreed and sided with the Church. Andaqesh signed off on the claim and the island was awarded to the Jandican Church without further objection.
Artwon and Gnoria knew that the Andaqesh Governauts believed the island to be fruitless, holding little value and thus did not contest the judgment any further. The couple held the secret of the mud for the moment.
For the next few years, the Church, together with the aid of Andeqesh, established the new country, State of Salvation.
In 1088, Artwon, Gnoria and Islabeth returned to the island. They asked the Church to sell them the black rocked crater. The Church agreed and sold the area for almost nothing, which at the time seemed a good deal to the Jandican accountants.
Artwon and Gnoria built their home in the black rocked crater and remained there for twenty-five years working with the Church and helping to build the new country. After the twenty-five years, they permanently returned to Andaqesh, having left the island well established. As Artwon and Gnoria aged, they both thought of the mud and considered returning to the island for the hope of revival but chose to let their lives pass as time intended.
Gnoria died suddenly in 1127 at the age of 70. Artwon followed her 13 years later but on his deathbed, with Islabeth at his side, he told his daughter the secret of the mud. He passed shortly after revealing the information. She would have to use the knowledge without guidance.
Islabeth returned to the island where the true nature of the mud would be her discovery. She hired a team of scienteers and after years of testing they found that the mud did show signs of youth rejuvenation. They would not know the mud’s full potential or any dangers inherent with its use for years, as it would take much more study. As for bringing a person back to life her scienteer team assured Islabeth that her parent’s stories were not correct. The mud could not bring death to life. (To this day, no subject has been tested for rebirth with the mud.)
As for the youth rejuvenating properties of the mud, word traveled quickly and soon the island was profiting wildly. Islabeth grew wealthy and built an empire.

PERISH ISLAND
Islabeth used the secret of the mud and lived a long and strong life and may have lived longer but at 97 she would witness another mystery of the island, as it would perish into the depths of the waters within a matter of days. Ships nearby witnessed the sinking of the island. All would be lost including Islabeth. The story arrived at Andaqesh and an armada was sent to the island but as reported the island was gone. Only debris floating on the ocean was found.
One year later, the island resurfaced. A cargo ship rediscovered the island and the shipping company laid claim to its discovery. Judge Wego Maundible of the Serene Court ruled that the island was merely underwater and thus not a new discovery, and awarded all island properties back to the rightful owners.

DISCOVERIES
In the year 1170, shortly before his death, the failed prophet Jogilo Em Batoor of Great Blytherdon, made the prediction that an immense star would pass Blissdane Naive and cause chaos on the planet. Most people at the time scoffed at the idea and his prophecy was ignored. In 1176, four years after Batoor's death, the State of Salvation island would fall into the ocean. No one made the connection.
Many years later, a large asteroid was discovered coming toward Blissdane Naive. Its proximity to the planet presented no global threat but scienteers calculated that the traveling asteroid would pass Blissdane Naive every 101 years. After yet another sinking of the State of Salvation, it was hypothesized that the small island was a broken piece of the asteroid and that each was its polar opposite and as the asteroid made its 101 year revisit, the island would be gravitationally forced under water for the year it took the asteroid to move past Blissdane Naive. Batoor's prediction was rediscovered and his correct prediction was celebrated by naming the asteroid, Batoor's Asteroid.
In the year 2409, a sealed chest was retrieved from the sea near the island, now called Perish Island. In the chest were the personal effects of Islabeth Dienos including her journal. She wrote of the secrets her Father revealed to her at his death, including their accounts of the orb. When this information was made public, the Asgons from the planet Tagus in the nearby Sagis System revealed that it was their forefathers who made travels to Blissdane Naive to retract the rejuvenating mud and offered to pay any damages that were caused by these visits. Blissdane Naive saw no need for reparations and the two worlds strengthened their ties.
Perish Island is now built with submersible buildings that are easily reactivated once the island returns to the surface. The island is a resort that attracts millions for the youth agent mud, which was named, AlluviumRM. A 10% rejuvenating face mud called GnoriaRM2 is available for what the company calls, Indamentum Face Treatment. The term Indamentum, was derived from the phrase, In The Meantime. The Perish Island Central Bank also adopted the phrase Indamentum.
